1. What the AI Writer Module Does #
According to your documentation, AI Writer is a Pro-only feature that adds an AI-powered sidebar to the Gutenberg block editor.
It provides:
- A “Davix AI Writer” sidebar inside the block editor.
- Tools for:
- Drafting new content for posts and pages.
- Rewriting existing content (shorter, longer, more formal, SEO-friendly, etc.).
- Changing language of the content.
- Optional image and alt-text helpers to:
- Generate image ideas.
- Suggest alt-text for images.

2. Where AI Writer Lives in WordPress #
From the docs:
- The module adds a submenu: Davix AI Engine → AI Writer (Pro) in the admin.
- It also injects a sidebar into the Gutenberg editor when conditions are met (see next point).
So there are two places:
- Settings screen:
- WordPress admin → Davix AI Engine → AI Writer
- Used to configure:
- OpenAI model & temperature.
- Tone presets.
- Max tokens.
- Roles allowed.
- Media helper toggles.
- Editor sidebar:
- Open a post/page in the block editor.
- The Davix AI Writer sidebar is available for users with permission.
3. When the Sidebar Appears #
Docs specify:
The AI Writer sidebar appears if:
- The user can edit the post.
- The user’s role is allowed in AI Writer settings.
So even in Pro, if:
- The site owner limits AI Writer to certain roles (e.g., editors/admins),
- And the current user doesn’t belong to those roles,
…the sidebar will not show.
4. Free vs Pro #
From the summary and readmes:
- AI Writer is part of Pro features:
- “AI Writer – Gutenberg Sidebar (Pro)” / “AI Writer for Gutenberg (Pro).”
- When Pro is not active:
aiWriter.phpreturns early.- No AI Writer submenu.
- No sidebar injected into the block editor.
