2. Drafting New Content #
From the docs:
- The sidebar lets you request new drafts for posts and pages.
Typical flow (as described):
- In the Davix AI Writer sidebar, you’ll see fields/buttons to:
- Describe what you want (e.g., a topic or short brief).
- Trigger AI drafting.
- When you click the Draft or similar action, AI Writer:
- Uses the selected model, temperature, tone, and token limits from global + per-post settings.
- Sends a request to its REST endpoint (
davix-ai-writer/v1). - Returns draft content.
- The sidebar then:
- Inserts or offers to insert this draft into the editor (exact behavior is controlled by “insert_behavior” in per-post overrides).
3. Rewriting Existing Content #
Docs describe:
- You can rewrite existing content:
- Make it shorter.
- Make it more formal.
- Make it SEO-friendly.
- Change tone and length.
Step-by-step (editor perspective):
- In the Gutenberg editor, select the text or block you want to improve.
- Open the Davix AI Writer sidebar.
- Choose a rewrite option:
- For example, a dropdown or buttons like “Shorter”, “More formal”, “SEO-focused” (exact labels follow your UI, but this behavior is explicitly described).
- Optionally adjust:
- Tone.
- Target length (per-post override).
- Trigger the rewrite action.
- AI Writer calls the /generate endpoint with:
- The selected snippet.
- Your chosen tone/length.
- Model and token limits.
- The returned text replaces or is offered to replace the original, depending on insert_behavior.

4. Changing Tone, Length, and Language #
Docs state:
- AI Writer can adjust tone, length, and language.
Based on your settings:
- Tone presets come from global settings (e.g., “formal”, “friendly”), with per-post overrides specifying the active tone.
- Target length is set per post using
_davix_aiwriter_overrides.target_length. - Default language can be specified per post in
_davix_aiwriter_overrides.default_languageto tell AI which language to use.
In practice:
- In the sidebar, pick a tone (from presets).
- Set a target length (short/medium/long or a numeric value based on your UI).
- Make sure default language is set if you’re writing in something other than the site’s default.
- Request draft/rewrite; AI Writer sends all these parameters in the request.
5. Using Image & Alt-Text Helpers #
Docs:
- AI Writer has optional media helpers:
- Generate image ideas.
- Suggest alt-text for images.
These helpers are controlled by:
- Global flags for image/alt-text tools in
davix_aiwriter_settings.
Step-by-step:
- Enable media helpers in Davix AI Engine → AI Writer settings (see next article).
- In the editor, open the AI Writer sidebar.
- For an image (or planned image):
- Use the sidebar function to generate:
- A description or prompt idea for your image.
- Alt-text suggestions for accessibility and SEO.
- Use the sidebar function to generate:
- Copy/paste the alt-text into the image block’s alt field.
