Overview: Telegram Live Chat & Human Handoff (Pro)

1. What This Feature Does #

According to your documentation, Telegram live chat / human handoff is a Pro-only module that lets the chatbot hand a conversation over to real human agents through Telegram.

Key points from the docs:

• It forwards messages from your site to your Telegram bot.
• Human agents reply in Telegram.
• Replies are sent back to the user in the chat UI.
• Visitors can switch between AI mode and Human mode (depending on the selected mode).
• It uses dedicated REST endpoints and a Telegram webhook to relay messages.

2. Where it Fits in the Plugin #

From the docs:

• It is part of the Chatbot module (not Forms, not Auto-Reply).
• Configuration lives under Davix AI Engine → Chatbot → (Integration / Telegram section).
• It works on top of your existing chatbot:
  • The same chat UI is used.
  • When human mode is active, messages go to Telegram instead of OpenAI.

So the flow is:

1. Chatbot is already configured with OpenAI and theming.
2. You enable Telegram human handoff.
3. Users can switch from AI to Human mode (depending on mode you choose).
4. Human replies are bridged back into the chat.

3. Modes & Behavior (High-Level) #

The docs list three modes:

• AI only
• AI + Human (toggle between AI and Human)
• Human only

These map to an internal telegram_mode option with values:

• ai_only
• ai_human
• human_only

In short:

• AI only: Telegram integration is effectively disabled from the visitor’s perspective; only AI answers.
• AI + Human: Visitors see a toggle like “AI / Human” and can switch to a human.
• Human only: Chat uses human mode exclusively; messages are sent directly to Telegram.

4. Security & Pro Gating #

Docs emphasise:

• All Telegram endpoints require Pro:
  • They check my_fs()->can_use_premium_code().
  • If false → HTTP 403 for Telegram endpoints.
• Additional checks:
  • Telegram must be enabled.
  • telegram_mode must allow human usage.
  • If telegram_logged_in_only is set, users must be logged in.

So Telegram live chat is fully Pro-gated and is protected by permission callbacks and authentication.
